About Western Mountain Homes

     Hello, my name is Bill Blair, owner of Western Mountain Homes and a licensed contractor since 1978. Being a 3rd generation carpenter with over 40 years experience, I am well versed in all aspects of construction. I started at the bottom by cleaning up and stacking lumber on jobsites.
     In 1969 I began my union carpenter apprenticeship but was soon called into service in the Army. After completing my 2 year obligation, I returned to complete my apprenticeship. Since that time I have continued to keep abreast of the current building codes and practices of the construction industry.
     We have built homes from simple sketches on napkins to complete sets of plans. To keep very tight control on the quality of the homes we build, we subcontract very few of the construction phases. I can tell you where every piece of lumber, nail, and screw is on any one of my jobs.
     We take our customer's investment in their homes very seriously and we have a good track record of working with owner-builders. To help keep the cost of their dream home down, owner-builders can supply their labor and purchase some of their own materials. This allows them to get as much home as possible for their investment. We understand that this is the largest investment most people make in their lifetime.
